Olympic champions on show at meeting

TAEKWONDO: The GTUK Scottish Championships and Goodwill International are being held today and tomorrow at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh.

The Korean Olympic champions will begin each day with a demonstration before the individual events, with the International Team Event scheduled for tomorrow night.

Around 1,000 competitors are expected, with three international Grand Masters due to attend.

Scottish interest is boosted by 17-year-old India Isles from Blackburn, West Lothian. Isles is competing this weekend before heading to Manchester for the next phase in her bid to win a place in Team GB for the 2012 Olympics in London. She has already progressed from an initial 2,000 hopefuls down to the last ten.
