A TEENAGER has been treated in hospital after an unprovoked attack by a gang of around a dozen men.

The 18-year-old was walking in Ware Road in Glasgow's east end on Friday evening when he was chased and assaulted by the group.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he was treated for his injuries before being released.

Officers at Shettleston appealed for information on the attack, which occurred between 8pm and 9pm.

Detective Constable James Fingland said: "This was a totally unprovoked and sustained attack on a young man.

"We are currently carrying out door-to-door inquiries in and around the local area to establish exactly what happened last night.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the attack or may have seen a large group of males acting suspiciously in the area to contact police as a matter of urgency.

"Any information, no matter how insignificant, may catch the men responsible."
