Royals back on dry land after their Hebridean cruise

ONE of the youngest members of the House of Windsor put his best foot forward yesterday at the end of the royal family's cruise on board the Hebridean Princess.

Prince Edward's son James Wessex, two, of made a rare public appearance when the luxury craft docked in Scrabster Harbour.

The Prince of Wales, who is holidaying in Caithness, came to meet the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the family at the end of their private holiday.

A party including Prince Andrew and his daughters and royal nanny Mabel Anderson set sail from Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis on 23 July.

The Queen used to begin her annual holiday with a cruise around the Western Isles on the Royal Yacht Britannia before heading to Balmoral.

After the Brittania was decommissioned the Queen opted for the privately chartered cruiser.
