Retail park set to expand

STRAITON Retail Park is set to undergo an extension after council chiefs gave the green light to plans for new retail space to be built on the site of a former dairy.

The proposals called for a new retail building and a petrol station to be created on land to the south of the shopping complex.

The land was formerly the site of the Dansco Creamery, on Straiton Road at Loanhead.

Midlothian Council approved the project at a recent meeting.
