Picnic area transformed

A TEAM of youngsters have helped to transform an overgrown walled area in Whitburn into an attractive picnic facility.

Over a five-day period the team, from the Prince's Trust Team Programme, removed a number of trees, bushes and overgrown shrubs at Polkemmet Country Park.

They also renovated two benches and placed a number of picnic tables within the area, along with several bird boxes.

The team consisted of Jade Carty, Tony Cassidy, Moira Crawford, Lee Jones, Ross MacFarlane, Michael Richardson, Nicole Roy and Stuart Williamson.
