'Guggenheim' plan catches on
ABERDEEN has followed in Dundee's footsteps by announcing an international design competition for a public square, with its own hopes for a "Scottish Guggenheim", as part of the controversial £140 million project.
The economic forum leading Aberdeen's Civic Square proposals said yesterday it was opening up the project to international designers, and a major gallery or museum had been identified as one of its main aspirations.
