A SCHOOLGIRL at one of Scotland's top independent schools has gone missing.

Katie Adam, 16, who attends Dollar Academy in Clackmannshire, was last seen by a member of her family at her home in Blairlogie, near Stirling, at around 8am yesterday.

The 5ft 3in schoolgirl, who has short blonde hair, was due to return to the school for the first day after the Spring holiday.

She left her home but did not arrive at school. Her family and friends have described her disappearance as out of character.

Her father Gordon, said: "We have no idea where she went. Hopefully someone has seen her."

"Katie has never been missing before," said a spokewoman for Central Scotland Police. "She was seen by a family member at 8am. She was wearing casual clothing, not her school uniform. Officers are anxious that Katie contacts them or her family to let them know she is safe and well."
