Britons cling to mobile phones

MORE than half of Britons never leave home without their mobile phone and 44 per cent say they could not live without it, a survey suggested today.

Around 51 per cent said they always took their mobile with them, with 26 per cent admitting they would worry about missing a call if they did not have it on them, according to BM Savings.

Three-quarters of those polled spend up to half an hour on the phone every day. Younger people were the most enthusiastic users, with 88 per cent spending up to an hour on it on a daily basis, but nearly a third of those aged over 65 said they always take their phone with them.
