Campbells Prime Meat counts cost

THE financial impact of a major fire at Campbells Prime Meat's main plant in 2008 has been revealed in its latest accounts.

The food service business saw turnover fall to 42.5 million in the year to 31 December 2009 from 52.5m a year earlier with operating profits down to 548,517 from 1.36m.

The company said it had since seen a "remarkable recovery" in sales. A 6m replacement factory and headquarters opened near Linlithgow in July.
