Wells swells Carlton's bid to defend title

Champions Carlton will include last year's Scotland under-15 wicket-keeper Matt Wells when launching their Scottish indoor six-a-side tournament bid at the national cricket academy, Ravelston, tonight.

Carlton are in a section alongside Edinburgh University and Uddingston. Wells' inclusion frees up skipper Jamie Kerr to enter the bowling attack and the rest of the Carlton line-up comprises Omar Ahmad, Steven Elder, Nick Hunt and Mohammed Habib.

The opening weekend saw two dramatic finishes with Heriot's beating Edinburgh Accies thanks to a last-ball four from Gavin McIntyre and Watsonians falling short against Edinburgh Accies after a last-ball run out while chasing six through new recruit Tony McKinna.
