Published Date: 04 January 2009
ONE of the biggest street parties in the world yesterday gave way to one of football's oldest derbies, but you would hardly have noticed the difference.
While the fireworks have long been extinguished and tourists safely dispatched to various corners of the globe, more than 17,000 locals squeezed into Tynecastle for a spectacle that was just as suffocating. Like the celebrations of two days earlier, it was another breathless Edinburgh rammy, long anticipated, fun to be a part of, but amounting to little in the end.

Hearts, in particular, will be frustrated to have emerged with just a point from a derby in which they struck the woodwork three times, and found themselves confronted by the unusual challenge of an inspired Hibs goalkeeper. No wonder their manager, Csaba Laszlo, wants to sign a new striker before the transfer window closes. While they didn't quite create the "20 million chances" he later claimed his team had created, another performance like this in next weekend's Scottish Cup tie at Easter Road, and the law of averages is bound to bail them out.

Although Hibs had markedly less to offer in attack, they played their part in what was an absorbing grapple, at least by the standard of scoreless draws. That Calum Murray saw fit to issue only four bookings – one for Hearts and three for Hibs – was a tribute to the quality of his refereeing, which allowed a typically physical derby to flow. When Christos Karipidis hobbled into the press room on crutches, having played for 89 minutes with an ankle injury, it was no surprise to hear that he had ruled himself out of Wednesday's match at Motherwell.

This was a blur of a fixture, flashing from one end to the other at breakneck speed, with the absence of any discernible pattern detracting nothing from the spectacle. From the moment a minute's silence for the former Hearts captain, George Miller, was interrupted by a few yobs in the away end, it was clear that this would be another of the passionate, no-holds-barred exchanges so familiar in these parts. When Dean Shiels came on to replace Alan O'Brien midway through the second half, the home support showed that they were in no position to claim the moral high ground, directing the most tasteless of chants at Hibs' substitute.

Neither was there any love lost on the pitch, where some struggled to keep up. Mixu Paatelainen gave a debut to Jonatan Johansson, but the Finn appeared to have lost a yard of the pace that had been such a feature of his previous spell in Scotland, and there were signs in the first half that his failure to track back was leaving David Van Zanten exposed. When Andy Driver burst clear after only a few minutes, his drilled shot from a narrow angle might have been heading for the side net, but Yves Ma-Kalambay took no risks with a smart reaction at his near post.

Hibs' goalkeeper, so often blamed for the soft goals his team are prone to leak, made a number of athletic saves, and came off his line with newfound confidence, as he needed to in the absence of his injured captain, Rob Jones. In a first half that tested the full range of his abilities, he tipped wide a flashing shot across goal by Laryea Kingston, gathered a low effort by Michael Stewart and retreated quickly enough to gather a deflected Andy Driver strike that threatened to spin over him.

Without Jones' 6ft 7in frame in central defence, the partnership of Steven Thicot and Chris Hogg looked vulnerable, especially when the likes of Christophe Berra joined Christian Nade in the box. Indeed, the closest Hearts came to opening the scoring in a breathless opening period was when Robbie Neilson arrowed a low throw into the mayhem, where Nade flicked a looping header over Ma-Kalambay and on to the top of the crossbar.

It was not the last time that the woodwork, already reverberating to the rhythm of a raucous Tynecastle, would be left rattling in the wind. Four minutes into the second half, Eggert Jonsson hit the bye-line, looked up long enough to pick out Nade, and watched as the striker turned a left-foot shot on to the base of the post. Substitute Gary Glen also tested the frame of the goal, this time from over 25 yards. The youngster, who had already scuffed a shot straight at the goalkeeper, gathered possession in the middle of the park, and released a dipping shot that glanced the top of the crossbar.

Hearts maintained a pulsing tempo throughout, which was no small feat in the circumstances. With Jonsson and Jason Thomson already filling in for the suspended Marius Zaliukas and Lee Wallace, and Stewart deputising for Bruno Aguiar in the hole, a first-half injury to Thomson forced them to make further adjustments. Jonsson slid across the defence, Stewart and Karipidis withdrew to deeper roles, and Glen was asked to play in the supporting role behind Nade.

Jonsson showed his versatility with a perfectly-timed tackle that denied Derek Riordan just before the interval, which only added to Hibs' frustrations. Steven Fletcher, surely on the last legs of his time at Easter Road, was their main source of inspiration, although he should have done better when Lewis Stevenson set him up just outside the box. His shot was high, wide and not very handsome.

Riordan briefly threatened with a dipping free kick and a dangerous shot across goal, but it was his sought-after partner that caught the eye. When Fletcher rose at the back post to meet a second-half cross, the header he returned across Janos Balogh drifted agonisingly beyond the post. And then, after turning Neilson inside out, he was left with only enough strength to slap a shot against the goalkeeper. When he is gone, Hearts will not be the only team in need of a striker.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Eggert Jonsson was outstanding in defence for Hearts and just shaded it from Hibs goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambay. With a little bit of help from the woodwork, he was the reason Hearts didn't win.

QUICK FACT

The Hibs fans' failure to respect the minute's silence accorded former Hearts captain George Miller set the wrong tone, as did the offensive chants directed at Dean Shiels by the home support.

TALKING POINT

Hearts have scored only once in their last four matches, although it wasn't for the want of trying here. That Christian Nade is the club's joint top scorer on three goals speaks volumes for the club's shortcomings.

HOW THEY RATED AT TYNECASTLE:

HEARTS

JANOS BALOGH
The Hungarian had solid handling when called upon and was pacey off his line when required. Never really tested, though, until Fletcher jinked his way goalward in second half and he made the block.
||5958||

ROBBIE NEILSON
Brave and committed as always and contained O'Brien down the flank with relative ease. Combined better with Cesnauskis going forward in second half. Rose to deny Fletcher in the final few minutes.
||5756||

JASON THOMSON
Started at left-back in place of Lee Wallace and given the tricky job of curtailing Johansson on his Hibs debut. A full-blooded tackle on Van Zanten midway through first half left him injured and he was taken off on 33 minutes.
||5554||

EGGERT JONSSON
Such a solid all-round player who rarely lets the side down. Started at centre-half then switched to left-back after Thomson went off. Brilliant last ditch tackle on Riordan to deny an almost certain goal.
||53
52||

CHRISTOPHE BERRA
The Hearts captain was calm and controlled throughout and he was defensively sound. Walloped a searing drive late in the match which forced an unorthodox save from Ma-Kalambay.
||5150||

LARYEA KINGSTON
Had a decent shot which forced a save from Ma-Kalambay in the 32nd minute but was substituted eight minutes into second half after failing to find his best form and inspire proceedings.
||49
48||

CHRISTOS KARIPIDIS
Played through an early injury and moved from midfield to centre-half as part of the enforced first-half reshuffle, and helped to marshal the tricky pairing of Fletcher and Riordan. Safe without being spectacular.
||4746||

RUBEN PALAZUELOS
The Spanish holding midfielder put in a shift in the heart of the midfield and refused to allow Hibs to settle on the ball or play their way out of their own half too cheaply. A comfortable enough display.
||4544||

MICHAEL STEWART
Worked the ball from one foot to the other and got in a shot right on half-time but Ma-Kalambay was equal to it. Involved in a tight midfield tussle, working with Palazuelus in an attempt to better Stevenson and Bamba.
||4342||

ANDREW DRIVER
Looked lively in the beginning and it was his 39th minute effort which almost dipped in behind Ma-Kalambay. More composure in front of goal in the 67th minute would have seen him at least hit the target.
||41
40||

CHRISTIAN NADE
Poor decision-making as he broke forward with support on both sides. Chose to plough on himself but lacked pace and finish. Denied by post in second half and swung horribly when presented a great chance late on.
||39
38||

SUBSTITUTES

Gary Glen (for Thomson, 32) Made an almost immediate impact, forcing a block from Ma-Kalambay. Denied again, by the bar, in the 63rd minute. ||35
34||

Deividas Cesnauskis (for Kingston, 53) Tried to inject a bit more zip into the Hearts forward play and give Nade a bit more support but couldn't really impose himself. ||33
32||

HIBERNIAN

YVES MAKALAMBAY
Looked pretty assured in the early stages but briefly lost concentration and had a couple of flaps late in the half. Regained his composure and made a couple of important saves in the second half.
||2928||

DAVID VAN ZANTEN
The former St Mirren and Celtic full-back had a steady game and did well to keep Driver's influence to a minimum. Got up and down the flank but had less of an influence when going forward.
||27
26||

IAN MURRAY
Couple of good foraging runs and defensively sound. On a day when all the full-backs tried to contribute positively as well as defensively he was as good as any of them. Dealt with anything Hearts threw at him.
||2524||

CHRIS HOGG
Good in the air and had to marshal the defence minus Rob Jones. A wee error allowed Glen in but generally read the game well and coped with the physical problems posed by Nade and the movement of the support acts.
||2322||

STEVEN THICOT
The former Nantes player had to intervene to help out his keeper after glen pounced on a Hogg error. Dealt with the strength of Nade well and refused to be bullied. A good display from the French youngster.
||2120||

LEWIS STEVENSON
The combative midfielder made his first start in 10 games, playing inside Johansson. He was industrious and battled well for the ball but he could not muster enough creatively. Booked in the second half for a lunge on Stewart.
||1918||

SOULEYMANE BAMBA
The Ivorian showed good tackling and won a lot of midfield ball to make life really difficult for the home side to get real fluency through the middle of the park. Does need to improve his distribution.
||1716||

ALAN O'BRIEN
With his pace, he should be a bigger threat. As it was, he managed to whip a couple of decent crosses across goal, but no green shirts were there to capitalise. Replaced by Shiels in the 70th minute.
||15
14||

JONATAN JOHANSSON
The Finn will need time and games to get up to full sharpness but still gave Hearts something to think about as he tried to link with his new team-mates and find ways in behind the home defence.
||13
12||

DEREK RIORDAN
Given a start up front, he asked a few questions of Hearts defence as the game settled into a rhythm and he began to form a better understanding with Fletcher. Second half booking for a tackle on Driver.
||11
10||

STEVEN FLETCHER
Was permitted decent scoring opportunities, one in either half, the first squeezing just wide of the target. Jinked his way deep into the area in the 76th minute, but having done the hard work could not beat Balogh.
||98||

SUBSTITUTES

Dean Shiels (for O'Brien, 70) The Northern Ireland international didn't really have a chance to make a tangible contribution after replacing O'Brien, other than from set pieces.

They weren't, however, good enough to open the hosts up, bar a through ball for Fletcher's best opportunity in the second half. 5

KEY MOMENTS:

Jonsson slides in (42 mins)

Hearts defender Eggert Jonsson executes a perfect penalty-box tackle on Derek Riordan as the Hibs striker runs through on goal following a fine through ball from Lewis Stevenson.

Nade denied by post (50 mins)

Christian Nade strikes the woodwork for the second time in the match after good work by Jonsson. Nade's left-foot shot wrong-foots Yves Ma-Kalambay but bounces off the outside of the post.

Glen hits the bar (64 mins)

Teenage Hearts substitute Gary Glen takes the ball from Michael Stewart 30 yards out and unleashes a dipping strike which beats the Hibs goalkeeper but clips off the top of the crossbar.

Tempers flare (85 mins)

Passions rise near the end of the game and local boys Ian Murray and Christophe Berra tangle on the ground. Each earns a yellow card for the outbreak of 'handbags'.

1 Waspy100, Given my geography I obviously was not there to say, but it seems from the reports that Hearts just shaded it. I don't mind that, pre-game I would have settled for a point. What frustrates myself, and other Hibees, is that we believe that this team is capable of so much more. Still, roll on next weekend and we will hopefully give the Jambos a pasting. In the nicest way of course.....

Why is the Hearts thread "we need a striker closed"

The Scotsman's moderator really needs to grow up, and get the finger out.

If you are so worried about nasty posts, just ban those email addresses that you deem inappropriate, no need to close the thread.

Giuseppe Tortolano,

Jesu Christo!

That was abysmal.

Just watched the game on Santa after spending all day at work avoiding finding out the score. Wish I hadn't bothered. I can't remember Hibs making 4 passes in the whole game. Hearts didn't edge it, they were the only team that deserved to win the game.

First half wasn't bad, but 2nd? FFS, that was painful to watch. It appears Mixu has told them to take a touch and lump it forward.

I don't think we hardly won a header - even from early in 1st half it was obvious that it wasn't working.

MIXU! - erm, substitutes? O'brian had his usual ineffectual game but played 70min and nobody else came on.

I'm pretty sure there wasn't ONE ball to the feet of the forwards.

Jesus - even Neilson looked like a decent player!

Half hoping to get humped next week if that means Mixu gets his jotters - that 'performance' was an embarassment.
24

Giuseppe Tortolano,

04/01/2009 02:36:27
And another thing............

Who could blame Fletcher for nicking off if that's the sort of service he gets? You could criticise Brown and Thomson for leaving decent sides but FFS, who would want to play in that team?

Mixu must go - he is the new Mr Bobby.

Bto, wax up the board, let's see if you can ride a tunnel, pretty big one there! We lived in San Francisco for 7 years and lived through the big one that knocked down the bay bridge and finished of the Embarcadero in 89 I think, we also went through the big one in Seattle in 99, loads of fun! So hope you have power at least.

There was a mini quake in paradise today too, oh well better one point than none, D unt are a pretty good team, I was having trouble trying to watch it this morning, due to it buffering all the time, so I didn’t get to see it all, bummer dropping the points though.

On a more serious note hope it wasn’t as bad as they’re making out, get the bottled water in. I won’t sign off with the usual. Bramalea postcard coming your way (club), as well as 4! See you guy’s are still posting good golf scores in the mini’s, lol.

The transfer window is not big wnough for WGS to repair the chinks in his armor.

Or is that japs.

Well, they all look the same to me, anyway.

Gaping holes in the defence, no natural widemen (McManus aside), and a goalie who finds it easier to fall over on his e&rse that pick out a wee cross.

Yes, it's all doom and gloom at CP

So Basket-Ball is one of "Walters" infamous "Ibrox Ten" then.

I for one will be hoping that "Walter" renages from himself and keeps Basket-Ball.
Rearrangerz are a less effective team with him in their starting eleven.
48

Meanwhile "Walters" really showing his age.

He was on BBC/STV telly on Friday saying that he had been unable to get rid of any of his Ibrox stars despite his much publicised "Ibrox Ten" wish list.
He only went on to confirm that the only inquiry he had officially received was concerning Alan Gow coming from Wolves and Blackpool.
A fee of about one pound fifty(£1.50)had been mentioned.

HEY "WALTER" ......wee word in yer shell if you dont mind.
Yer Rocket Man is offskae.
Jean Claude Darcheville made good his escape nearly a fortnight ago!!
Yet you`ve come on LIVE TV and told the Rearrangerz screaming still believing(only just)heaving hordez that Gow is the only player under your watch,who might be going.
Little wonder Rearrangerz fanz dont know whats going on when "Walter" doesn`t seem to have a grasp of the basics concerning his squad.

Monsieur Paul Le Guen(muncho bucks) would never have been allowed to get away with embarrassing his position in such a way.
Come to think of it,neither would Alex McLeish.

There is a much chance of Ferguson leaving Ibrox as Dave Provan winning the New York marathon three years in a row when he's just come out of hospital after a hernia operation (each year).

I hope that you are right.

But its the lack of direction that Rearrangerz are suffering under "Walter" thats concerning the likes of The Rearrangerz Supporters Trust et al.

Its "Walters" lack of clarity and leadership that has allowed/encouraged the talk surrounding his players.

"Walter" should be at least standing up for a degree of stablity at Rearrangerz.

Dont forget that should "Walter" fail fail,then JesterCoists awaits in the shadows.

Out of the frying pan into the fire ?

I posted here yesterday that Basket-Ball leaving would be put forward.
It has now happened.

To me its playing games with the Rearrangerz fanz minds.
It looks certain that Bougherra is offski and Steve Davis could be next.
He hummed and hawed about coming in the first place and is al"ready" regreting his delayed arrival.

The Basket-Ball affair is and only ever could be a distraction.

"QUICK FACT

The Hibs fans' failure to respect the minute's silence accorded former Hearts captain George Miller set the wrong tone, as did the offensive chants directed at Dean Shiels by the home support. "

This is such typically sloppy journalism, suggesting the entire Hibs support and Hearts support were being disrespectful / offensive. It was, I suspect, a small minority of either support that indulged in either behaviour but why bother to file an accurate report when you can just simplistically slander both sets of support!

If Any team comes in with a bid of £2.5mill for Steven Fletcher, if i were Petrie i would bite their hand of ,this lad cant even head a ball,and would struggle badly to get a regular game for an English 2nd division team never mind the premiership.

About tae watch the Rearrangerz game LIVE on Setanta.

I`ll be turning the TV volume off and turning on BBC Radio Scotland.

Others out there should do like wise.

That will bring home to you all just how bitter and blatantly biased BBC Radio Scotland are in their fawning biasedness in favour of Rearrangerz.

All others who can, are invited to do the same.

You will be watching,with your own eyes,a different game than that reported by BBC Radio Scotland.

Shame being brought down on BBC Scotlands listeners and licence fee payers.

The below will hardly restore parity with more 3rd rate Lithuanian dross on it's way esp with their brittle resolve. Hibs need 2 players, one in defence and 1 in midfield - both with leadership qualities. Perhaps Hartley and ???

Hearts are set to swoop for Kaunas defender Manta Fridrika as a replacement for Christophe Berra. Tynecastle skipper Berra looks set to leave in the January transfer window with 20-year-old Fridrika in their sights.

Another shiny new name, and just as good as the previous twenty!

Would that be the same "foreign country" that a certain high-profile Celtic star, born and brought up in Scotland, living and working in Scotland, and of Scottish parentage, somehow decided that it was in his best interests to represent?

Good win for Rangers again today, and I think we now once again officially have the best attack and the best defence in the SPL, as well as the country's most lethal finisher in Kris Boyd. I always maintained that the 22-game point, where we've all played each other home and away, was the most valid point at which to make comparison, and with Celtic's next match away at Aberdeen, while Falkirk visit Ibrox, I can see the gap at the top being no more than three points by the end of those matches. So it's hopefully game on as far as the title race is concerned.

Jambos, do not fret over your lack of a striker. Your problems will be solved when we give you a seven-figure sum plus Andrius Velicka in return for relieving you of the services of Christophe Berra, and everyone will be happy!
77

What top class journalists the News of the World have.
Match report states that Hearts were the better team yet the ludicrous waste of space that is individual player ratings, stated that FFFHibs totalled 73 and Hearts 65. Can journalists count ? Does Mixu Pantyliner look like Churchill ? Who playes centre back now with Kari & Zali out ? Would Velicka and Glen up front work ? Does Ian Brines have a backbone ? Is Vlad still alive ? How many injuries do we have now 9 or 10 ? Is Kris Boyd the most thuggish looking player in the SPL ? Will the Daily Record EVER print enything negative about Rangers ? Is Mike Tullberg still in Scotland ?
All that drivel and semi drivel would maybe have been mentioned and joked about on Talk107, with the odd pertinent answer thrown in , but now thats gone we have Real Radio and Ewan Cameron to look forward to....the Real Weegie fest - oh the pain....

Hibs require young talent blended with experience. Now because JJ is the oldest Hibs have signed in years that means he signs players well past it?
Hearts have poor discipline, they cannot take decisions going against them (v Dons) and eventually anyway your mob beat it back home with tales between legs - where is that diver and keeper now something -----kis.
Mixu is not my ideal choice as a manager (not in a long stretch) but he is learning, where as your boss has apparently got it all - seems not, esp regards controlling signings, sales etc - nothing changed there.
I would rather have JJ (Seasoned prof) than another top rate Lithuanian, but from a 3rd classed football playing Country.

Why else would murray use foreign holding clubs to put Romanov off the scent when signing Hearts players.
Do you think the Webster and Velicka fiddles will inspire Vlad to even speak with murray ?
How stupid do you think Vlad felt when finding where these players were earmarked for ?
Think he wants to fall for it all again ?

Especially when Wolves can offer double whatever Rangers can scrape together.

Berra - "MMM , do I want to go and play/sit on the bench at Ibrox where I can enter into an archaic religiously driven bigotted environment or play for a club that will probably be in the top league in the world next August, pay me double and where people are forward thinkers and not frozen in the 17th century " ?????????????

While over on Moira Gordon's article we get the full quote - 'I'm not telling you anything new. I said it last year and I will say it again this year, if you don't have the killer instinct, you can create 20 million chances, but if you don't finish them and score then you will always be in danger.'

Eh yes... Wolves MIGHT be in the Premiership next season, and might, like the last time they were promoted, survive for one miserable season, finish bottom and disappear back through the trapdoor again.

Rangers need a replacement for Weir, so I doubt that Berra would "sit on the bench". As for money, Romanov will undoubtedly sell to the highest bidder. Money is God in this business.

I don't say that Berra will go to Ibrox, but he certainly fits the bill. Hearts, I think, would welcome Velicka back. The Webster reference was just a joke. Lighten up!

BBC Radio Scotland have always had the advantage of being able to talk through a hole in their nerse.
They could always talk piffle or only talk just a little piffle depending on their mood.
Listeners could never challenge the veracity of their comments.
They could get away with murder,knowing fine well they could never be challenged.
Now they know that they at last can be challenged by people now being able to watch almost any amounts of LIVE TV(with our own eyes dont forget).

Ones mind can only boggle if what we are now being subjected to by BBC Radio Scotland is what they consider to be a fairer and more evenly balanced commentary of what actually happens on the field of play and right in front of their very own eyes.

The mind can only boggle if todays example is of the BBC Radio Scotland team demonstrating their notion or idea of being fair minded.

Todays BBC`s Radio Scotland commentary covering the ICT v Rearrangerz game was bitterly disgraceful and shamlessly biased, entirely in favour of Rearrangerz.

I see your comments here and that you are pleased to be only 5 points behind Scotlands Champs led by Gordon Strachan.
I also see your post at 138 reaffirming that 5 point gap and take time at this point,if you dont mind to remind you and all Rearrangerz fanz of this quite pertinent point.

Had Rearrangerz beaten The Champs at The Scrapyard last Saturday,then Rearrangerz would be sitting top of the SPL.

When "Walters Warriors" were called upon to do their duty when it really mattered they found that their ball was burst.
Their bottle went.
They did not have the stomach for the fight.
The battle that distinguishes between true Champs and the also-rans.

When asked the vital question,"Walters Warriors" were shown,in their own back yard,The Scarpyard,to be of the latter quality.

They are in effect and in reality "Walters Also-Rans".
Aren`t they.

You have allowed yourself to be dragged into the Pax sectarian/bigotry debate. One of these years he might prefer to talk about football, but I do not hold out to much hope.

There a lot a lot of very decent Celtic/RFC supporters who frequent the threads, and some not so decent from both sides of the divide who love to stir things up.

DV, Ajax responded to you're man Pax, check out his posts,, any comment on those.

Anyway, I must go, not running away Pax, but this thread is doomed with you on it. You were not missed.

155

BEMUSED EXILE,

04/01/2009 17:30:06
The idea that last weekend was "when it mattered" is flawed. The league system awards three points for a victory in each of the 38 fixtures, and the team who accumulates most points will be crowned "champions".

A seven-point lead, particularly when both teams had played an equal number of home and away matches, was a very commanding advantage. A lead of five points, and having played a home match more than your rivals, is significantly less of an advantage. By the time we hit the 22-game point, with Celtic having visited Aberdeen, and Rangers having hosted Falkirk, it is reasonable to predict that the lead might be three or even only two points.

That Celtic are in the stronger position is beyond debate. But within six weeks, when Celtic have entertained Hibs and Rangers, and visited Motherwell and Aberdeen, we just might be looking at a very different situation.

To be fair with BBC`s shameless commentary today,they weren`t too bad in the first half.
Probably on account that had Caley went in at half time 2-0 up, then they nor "Walter" would have been able to complain.

But that didn` stop the BBC`s Radio commentary biasedness entirely in favour of Rearrangerz.

It lessened it,but it didn`t stop it.

Where the BBC cannot be excused in their comments today was in their bitter and what could be described fairly as of supporting bigotry.

I hear that miller trudged off in a huff after being hooked in the second half...one can think of few more ignominious scenarios for a striker, being dropped in preference for boydchenko that is.

Still, he did his usual and weighed in with a couple of goals ....against an spl side that's fighting relegation that is.

The Champions had the tougher test over the weekend, and should have had the points in the bag by half time, but profligacy and , later, complacency combined to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory.

But the rearrangerz have shown that there's life in the old dog yet...I think we all know that come may, the vet will have no option.

Yes.

Those two words could hardly better describe BBC Radio Scotlands comment.

Either seperately...supporting,or...bigotry.

In the context that the commentator deliberately chose them,then that is a perfect description of BBC Radio Scotlands comment.

It was indeed supporting bigotry.

BBC Radio Scotland owe their listeners a fair and biased free zone in their footballing radio shows.

Today,the BBC Radio Scotland deliberately chose not to do that.

I know this comment by the BBC does not constitute being blatantly biased in favour of Rearrangerz.
It does not also show any inclination by the BBC to be in any way bigoted.

But what it does do is show the listener/licence fee payer exactly where this BBC commentary was coming from and the mind set that it was coming from.

40 miutes in the BBC commentator said this....BAW HAW naw hanahanhan....hahahaha...thrrrrpppppp..KAK...

ahem..ahem...thats not what the commentator said its just me Laughertying when I reminded myself of it.
I wrote this down at the time so it is an actual quote from the BBC commentator, with The Camel making his run with the ball at his feet down the farside of the pitch...

...quote..." That was almost a Ronaldo-type stepover there by Broadfoot",end quote.

Now come on, thats got to be in the shortlist for the commenators quote of the year material.

You will also realise why I burst out Laughertying...again.

Have watched the game and my view is that although Hearts seemed to dominate in the midfield due to Hibs inability to pass a decent ball or win the headers it was Hibs who had the best chances with tremendous tackles or blocks by the Hearts defence preventing at least 4 solid efforts whereas Hearts had only the three efforts that struck woodwork ( in other words were not on target)and a couple of misguided efforts over the bar

Also why also the publicity re Hearts injuries when Hibs had major problems themselves. How can Karapidis play 90minutes after a knock on the ankle and then appear in crutches. it could not have been that bad

Half way through the first half the BBC says this.."Miller crosses into the middle looking for Boydthebench(pen)".
The commentator leaves it at that.
The commentator starts chatting with his co commentator,about nothing really,ceratainly not letting the listener/licence fee payer be aware of what was going on on the park.
What actually happened is that Millers pass "looking for Boydthebench(pen)",went not within 5 yards of him.The ball went straight out for a shy to Caley,midway inside their own half.It was a shocking attempt at a pass from Miller,which the commenatator refused to make the listener aware of.
Meanwhile,Caley play the ball between players,several passes before theior attack breaks down,by this time Caley are half way inside Rearrangerz` half.
Only when their attack breaks down and Weirisome gets the ball at his feet does the BBC pick up the commentary.
A full two minutes had passed by.

BBC listeners have not been told and are completely unaware that Millers pass had ever gone out for a Caley throw in !!

I have posted here on several occassions that Basket-Ball and Pedro Pedromendes do not play well together.Rearrangerz have lost more points since Basket-Balls return than they did in his absence and Pedro Pedrmendes` game is not the same with Basket-Ball at his side.

I only mention this because the BBC Radio Scotland commentator did not make their listeners/licence fee payers aware that when Pedro Pedromendes scored Rearrangerz first goal,Basket-Ball was off the park.
He was down and out injured.

Had you been depending on being made aware of that by the BBC Radio Scotland,then you would have been onto plums.
Basket-Ball was incapacitated resulting in Pedro Pedromendes being further up the park than he would have dared,allowing him to score what was a cracker.It was a very well taken goal.No doubt about that.

Had Basket been on the park it would probably never have happened.
You only know that because you have just been informed.You wont read about that in the Daily Record.

But I did expect the BBC Radio Scotland to inform its listeners/licence fee payers.

No chance.

Mind you,he would have been better keeping his mouth shut.

When asked about the hingerz oan that he wanted shot of "Walter" had mysteriously reduced "The Ibrox Ten"that he had spoken of a fortnight ago down to "a couple".

Even at that "Walter" could only confirm that the only player that anyone had expressed an interest in was Gow.
By Wolves, and that Rearrangerz had accepted their offer.

But hing oan,hing oan.

Why didn`t the interviewer ask "Walter" about his "Ibrox Ten" announcement.

And worse,why did the interviewer allow "Walter" to get away with his Gow comment.
"WALTER"....look behind you.

Your Rocket Man has flown.He`s offski.
Jean Claud Darcheville escaped a fortnight ago.

How can "Walter" be informing his Rearrangerz fanz even as of today that Gow is his only player to be enquired about.
Maybe its his age.

But why is he being ALLOWED to talk pash.
Thats the question.
