Kurt Wagner and his Nashville collective have taken musical understatement beyond logical limits, every song is the sound of a conversation tailing off in wistful wonderment.

When it is crisp and heartfelt such as on 'I'm Thinking Of A Number' it is very affecting, and similarly 'Sharing A Gibson With Martin Luther King Jr' feels positively jaunty.

'Of Raymond' boasts delightful hearthside horns, and 'Hold Of You' is equally warm and languidly lyrical.

Occasionally this is so immaculately conceived and executed it almost feels overly academic, but it is something of a musical masterclass.
