WELCOME to Scotland on Sunday's online feature, Question of the Week.
Each week we ask the readers of scotlandonsunday.com for their views on a burning issue from the past seven days.

The best responses may be reproduced on the Online Forum page in Sunday's print edition of the newspaper on April 5th.

If you wish to appear in Scotland on Sunday, then, along with your response, please leave a first name and surname, as well as your location - eg Tom Smith, Edinburgh. We welcome all comments.

The question this week is...

After the booze scandal, what should happen to Barry Ferguson, Alan McGregor and George Burley?

I reckon that Ferguson should be dropped from the international setup, McGregor kept on the bench and Burley be left alone to see out the terms of his contract.

If what I understand is correct then Burley is only contracted for this qualifying period so he can stand or fall by his own results - unfettered by SFA interference, one hopes.

The Ferguson/McGregor saga is a classic example of how to apply military disciple to maintain the integrity of the unit. Get rid of the troublemaker and split up any faction, no matter how big they think they are. In this respect Smith should back Burley at all cost.

The sight of Ferguson and McGregor giving identical V signs from the bench shows the level of respect they have. But I would be surprised if McGregor instigated the idea.

I still can't figure out why they were on the bench at all.

This is 2009 and not the 1960's or 70's. Attitudes within, and towards, professional football has moved on a tad since then.

Where are the likes of McCall, Pressley, Hendry, Collins, Mcallister, Gallacher, McCoist, Cameron, Hartley, Mcfadden, Hutchison, Etc? Not the best talent, but a bucketful of determination. I would rather have mediocre players giving it their all than half decent ones giving nothing.

I think Berra will be a star for Scotland going forward. Sure he got roasted by Holland, but who hasn't? I have high hopes for Fleck, Naismith, McCormack, Fletcher, and I already think Gordon is class.

Scotland should adopt the five year rule that other countries have. I'd take players that want to play here, but can't above players that can, but don't feel like it. Novo would do a job, and Cuellar would have been happy to turn out of the chance had been available. It wasn't so nothing was left for him to stay for. Andy Driver would be a great player on the left for Scotland, and he wants it so badly.

I'd put an ultimatum to all players pulling on the blue. Country or self? I'd kill to play for Scotland, but I'm useless with a ball at my feet. But at least I'd try, and be honoured to do so.
