FOUR Chinese sex slaves who were trafficked into Scotland by 'snakehead' gangsters have been rescued, following a co-ordinated series of raids by police.
The women, in their 20s, were found in two separate properties, after spending thousands of pounds to be smuggled overland to begin a new life in the UK.

Two Chinese males were arrested at the same time and are currently being quizzed on alleged s
ex and immigration offences.

One police source said yesterday: "This is an excellent result and once again illustrates the insidious extent of the sex trade in Scotland.

"This weekend is the start of Chinese New Year, and for these four girls, the Year of the Rat should be an awful lot happier than recent times that they have endured."

He added: "Girls like these tend to come from very rural and very poor parts of China. They would have been forced to hand over many thousands of pounds to the snakeheads, after being promised jobs here as waitresses, dancers or nannies.

"They then have to endure dreadful conditions as they are trafficked through Central Asia, the Balkans and Eastern Europe, before arriving in Britain without anything, apart from the hollow promise of a new life.

"Unfortunately, the girls who the police rescued are the tip of an iceberg, and there will always be many hundreds of others back in China more than happy to try their luck in Britain."

Friday's raid centred on properties in Union Road, Grangemouth, and Abbeymill, Stirling. It was initiated after locals complained of seeing dozens of men coming and going from the properties at all hours of the day and night.

It was the second such operation mounted by Central Scotland Police in recent weeks, and is part of an ongoing UK-wide crackdown on sex trafficking.

Code-named 'Operation Pentameter 2', the investigation involves all police forces in Britain, as well as the Garda Siochana in Ireland.

The second part of the phase is designed to treat the women involved in the sex trade as victims and not criminals.

The women may have paid up to £20,000 to the snakeheads – the name given to Chinese criminals specialising in human trafficking.

However, instead of simply bringing the girls to the UK and then abandoning them, the gangs have now started handing them over to established Triad gangs, who are heavily involved in organised prostitution.

Yesterday, a spokesman for Central Scotland Police said their inquiries were continuing.

Detective Sergeant Donna Bryans, the senior investigating officer, added: "Information from the public has led directly to these searches. I would thank the community for their assistance and would urge others to remain vigilant to suspicious activity."

the males will be calling in favours from all the people in authority who use these girls, I reckon they will be sentenced to eat any three meals from a Scottish Chinese kerry oot ............. maybe two , three is a bit harsh

1 Dragonhead. Your grasp of logic and follow through seem to be confused at best. We classify these women as victims because that is what they are "VICTIMS". Removed from their families with the promis of better conditions only to find themselves beaten, raped and forced into the sex industry im sure is not what they signed up for. In mosrt cases the suppy for this type of service is met but it appears that Chinese and other organised gangs are forcing themselves into the field.
Try some compassion and understanding for the women in this situation instead of humiliation and rejection. Especially for something you patently know little about

What is significant about this
... is that it is Scottish men
... paying for the services of these young girls
... that fuel / prop-up / maintain the demand
... for more of these young girls
... to risk their lives in this way.

Why are Scottish women not asking the obvious question ...

Why do their Scots husbands
... seek the services of these young girls ...

Could it be the puritanical streak ...

... that still runs thru the Calvinist
/ John Knox component
... of every Scotsman ...

Or are us Scotswomen
... so cr*p in bed
... that Scotsman feel the need
... to stray and have
... 'their way' with these girls
... rather than stay in bed with us??

You see if you care to compare us Scotswomen

... to the rest of our
... European neighbours
... ( bear in mind ... I am ethnic Spanish Scots though ehh)

Scots still have
... a very backward puritanical way
... of viewing their sex-lives
... and particularly women's_sexuality ...

If you compare us Scots lassies
... to say
... the Dutch
... or Scandinavians ...
... or the French
... or Germans ...

... in these places
... there is a less uptight view
... of sexuality than here
... in prudy prissy Scotland.

Dunderhead. Your grasp of the logistics involved are tenuous at best. Do you consider that these people actualy paid for the priveledge of becoming a hooker so far from home? If you do , think again. Most if not all are KIDNAPPED and shipped to other areas and then forced into prostitution as a way of paying for their return.
I have never suggested that the Chinese people are stupid or unaware. Their government is sadly lacking in morality and humanity, but the people themselves are the same as the rest, unable to change their future due to the overbearance of their "Leaders".
As for not being away from their families, what about the mass migration at holiday time. People returning home after upwards of a year?
Get a grip ya numtie. This is not about you and me. This is about your adopted homeland and its very obvious shortcomings. It seems one of the shortcomings of militery life is myopia.
