James Johnstone, a 52-year-old manager in the construction industry, took this photograph last July on a trip to the seaside resort of Rossnowlagh, in Ireland's County Donegal. "It was late in the evening, around ten o'clock," he says, "and I was attracted by the yellow buoys leading the eye to the sea and the wonderful natural colour contrast with the deep blue of the late-evening sky."
Can you do better than this? We are looking for the best amateur photography in Scotland. The choice of subject – people, industry, nature, scenery – doesn't matter. The pictures just have to be eye-catching.
