Two hooded men run off with handbag

A WOMAN was assaulted and robbed by a pair of hooded muggers who made off with her handbag.

The 47-year-old victim was attacked at around 1.10am on Sunday at the junction of Boswall Square and Boswall Quadrant in Granton.

The victim was grabbed by one of the men, while the other man seized her bag and wrenched it from her shoulder.

They made off with the bag down Boswall Quadrant towards Boswall Terrace. Both suspects are described as between 20 and 25-years-old, and between 5ft 4in and 5ft 6in.

The first suspect is described as wearing a black hooded top, with a white motif on the front. The second suspect was also wearing a black hooded top.

A police spokesman said: "Although she wasn't seriously injured, the victim was understandably distressed, and we are appealing for any information that can help us identify the suspects."
