SCOTTISH Premiership side Partick Thistle may have made several additions to their squad this summer – including Mathias Pogba, the brother of Juventus star Paul Pogba – but few have been as flamboyant as the one who made his debut against Celtic today.

Jags supporters attended Firhill wearing bright yellow masks with the face of their new mascot, Kingsley, who was designed by Glasgow-based artist David Shrigley.

When Kingsley was unveiled earlier this summer, reactions to his unusual appearance were mixed. Some compared him to Lisa Simpson; another said he looked like “an evil Pokemon type thing.”

Some bemusement at Kingsley’s look may remain – Twitter user @atleticorner warned: “Kingsley’s watching. Kingsley’s always watching” – but Partick fans seemed happy enough to have him in their corner.
