RON SEXSMITH
Exit Strategy Of The Soul ****

Kensal Town kensal 5CD, £10.99

The Canadian singer-songwriter started out at 17 and even at 44 doesn't look a great deal older.

He has been quoted as saying that much as he admires Nick Drake and Tim Hardin, he yearns to be more successful than those artists.

This 11th album probably will not change his status from deserving to achieving, although the beautiful, subdued horn groove of 'This Is How I Know' merits it.

Other delicate delights include 'The Impossible World', 'Music To My Ears' and 'Brandy Alexander'.
