JEANA LESLIE AND SIOBHAN MILLER

****

Greentrax CDTRAX324, £10.99
Young Siobhan Miller is a great singer of traditional song. With singer, pianist and fiddler Jeana Leslie she's formed a special partnership – heard to beautiful, poignant effect in their spare, voices-with-piano setting of the Willie Scott favourite 'Time Wears Awa'. Elsewhere Leslie takes solo vocals in the lightly accompanied, atmospheric 'Three Sailors', Miller sings a cappella, and the tracks are cleverly arranged, as in the voices-in-the-head 'Bedlam Boys'. This pair deserve all the awards they are already starting to garner.
