Yes Scotland should be part of team GB, we ARE part of Britain. The Olympics is every 4years and it will give us the opportunity to support another event. This has become too political, there has been no referendum!

This has nothing to do with wither there has been a referendum or not.If anyone is playing Politics its Mr Murphy and Mr Brown. They are determined to push the Pro British agenda at every occasion possible. Thats ok if they want to, but do not use Scttish football to further there political aims.
Mr Murphy has the say so of one FIFA offical that everything is ok.Im not prepared to run the risk. A Pandora,s box keep the lid closed.Ian Edinburgh

ABSOLUTELY NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS.

The olympics are totally irrelevant as far as football is concerned and endangering our national sides independent status as absolutely unacceptable, especially when it is being endangered by idiot unionists who have no interest in football and just a self centred political motive.

The Scottish, Welsh and Irish Associations ie the people in charge of football in the respective countries have said no chance. The politicians should gtf with their stupid idea and leave football out of it.

THERE IS NO BRITISH IN FOOTBALL.

If Scotland, Wales and/or Northern Ireland black ball a Great Britain soccer team, it will just alienate even more the English. I regard myself firstly as a unionist and secondly a Tory who voted for Blair in 97 but has returned to the fold. I don't believe, based on extensive conversations with Scots, that when push comes to shove, Scots won't vote to leave the union, so why the hysteria about a British Olympic soccer team?

Yes of course Scotland should participate. Are we too scared to face off the rest of Europe?

If you're not pro Britain then why do you live here! People's identity should be expanding not narrowing.

I agree that this is Jim Murphy and Brown playing politics. Murphy has only been in the job 5 minutes and he is causing upset, lying about various things and showing that he has not a scooby what he is talking about.

Jack Warner, vice head of FIFA, a man of somewhat dubious character, has clearly stated that he wants to get rid of the Home International teams/set up which exists in the UK. Team GB would give him the perfect opportunity to do what he desires.

Murphy and Broon have picked the wrong subject to cause a fight with and if there was a vote on it Ladbrooks would not be taking any bets on the outcome being a resounding NO.

It's got nothing to do with britain or british, there is NO british in international football. It is ALL about the preservation of our national side. If you are in favour of it you obviously have no idea or interest in football and should keep your nose firmly out of it.

No way, it should only be Scotland, it will be like calling Andy murray British....... He is a Scot, and they should get used to that. It seems to me that whenever there is a good scottish team or sportsperson. they use british.... get your own..

Not never, no way, no how!

And any Scots player who turned out for a fictional "GB" team would never be forgiven by the fans.

If a team is entered, the easiest solution is surely that one of the home nations represent Britain. At the end of the day, we are part of Britain. Chris Hoy and co will testify to that. Have a qualifying tournament before the olympics - a home nations type tournament. The grounds will be packed and there will be something to play for. The winning nation then plays the olympic games, representing Britain, at their respective ground, be that Hampden, Windsor Park, The Millenium Stadium or Wembley where once again that ground will be packed, rather than the likely current scenario of small crowds with little passion. This will avoid all issues of who gets picked, whether uefa will want to combine the home nations going forward and it also may just have the effect of spreading the benefits of the olympics wider than just London, as it stands at the moment. I'd imagine most of Tartan Army would be quite excited at the prospect of 'Scotland' playing the olympics at Hampden...

I think Scotland as part of a GB Olympics team would be great. Finally Scotland would be able to support a football team that had a chance of winning something.
