I think Mr. Abdelbaset al-Megrahi should be sent back to Libya on compassionate grounds to spend time with
his family.He is a sick man and may also be an innocent victim in the Lockerbie bombing as I myself
am not convinced of his guilt. I don't think the Scottish justice system has anything to lose by
allowing Mr al-Megrahi to return to his family in Libya.
I am sorry for the people who lost their lives in the bombing and the families they left behind, but we
should be very sure before we convict anyone of
such a crime.

There’s some confusion here. Whether we believe justice was done in convicting this man of the bombing is another issue. As things stand he is a mass murderer, pure and simple. We don’t approve of executing such people, but surely they must see out a life sentence.
