TO ACCUSE a politician or party of "breaking a promise" is, as I see it, the equivalent of one MP calling another a liar ('SNP fails to keep promise on more police', August 24).
The article shows plainly that the SNP's efforts have been frustrated in the matter of increase of police officers on the streets. That is a very different matter from a deliberate "breaking" of a promise.

OK then, so they were incompetent and made a promise that they couldn't guarantee to deliver.

Either way, what's new?

#1 Stuart W,
Being incompetent is hardly a charge which can be made against the present Scottish Government; not yet anyway.

However, you can live in hope.
