Gunmen used BlackBerrys to watch atrocity

ONE of the most curious aspects of the 60-hour siege in Mumbai was the revelation that the gunmen watched how their actions had been reported on their BlackBerrys.
The extensive use of BlackBerrys by the perpetrators of the Mumbai massacre has contributed to suggestions that some of the terrorists had connections to Britain. Gen Noble Thamburaj, the head of India's southern command, said: "There was a lot of content from the English media, not just in London but the Urdu and Arabic sites that are very strong in the north of England.

"We have some analysis started on this and we will pass it on to Scotland Yard."

Ethnic unrest in the north of England is hardly a new phenomenon, and global events of recent years do little to resolve that issue.

As for your "unsubstantiated fantasy rumours", I think you are preferring to look the other way. Easier, isn't it? It it hasn't already, the truth will eventually out. Sooner, I think.

I agree with you whole heartedly, kind of like the weapons of mass destruction lies that put the American and UK foces in Iraq.
Or the bin-Laden lies that put NATO forces in Afghanistan.
Keep people in fear and you can have your way with them seems to be policy and it obviously works time and again.

Surely they were watching BBC and other reports to help them in their quest to kill as many as possible. As news organisations air more eyewitness reports from inside and outside situations, perpetrators of such acts are able to act on any slip of the tongue to find those in hiding.
Are the online accounts not available to anyone, anywhere as long as they have suitable receiving equipment. They weren't logged on to the BBC because it's tan oop north, they were logged on because they know that all news organisations are eager to be first so will broadcast first and apologise for aiding and abetting later imho.
