THE Federation of Small Businesses is urging the Government to introduce an adjustment mechanism to protect UK companies from sharp hikes in energy prices.
The Federation wants fuel duty to be automatically lowered when the price of oil rises dramatically. It argues the Government receives extra tax revenue when the price of oil goes up, and this saving should be passed on to small businesses which are struggling under the weight of rising fuel bills.
