BURNLEY manager Owen Coyle has ruled out a fresh bid for Hearts winger Andrew Driver.
The Tynecastle club have already rejected two offers from the Coca-Cola Championship outfit for the 20-year-old.

Driver has come through the youth ranks at Hearts and is now a first-team regular.

"We made two inquiries for Andrew and we're not preparing a third bid," Coyle said.

"The way it was left was, if anything was going to happen, Hearts had to come back to us."

romanov only said no because he doesnt want to upset the fans any more than they are hurting already (at least until they have a new manager)

once hearts have a new manager and have sold a certain amount of season tickets driver will be off

First bid? Oh aye, just like we took the first miserly bids for the likes of O'Connor, Thomson, Brown, Murphy, Whittaker......... Aye Petrie fairly caved in with that lot eh?

Of course, now we'll all be treated to your wacky conspiracy theory that Rod pocketed the money, Yawn.....

You'll really need to lose the Petrie obsession mate. I'd suggest concentrating on your own clubs problems first.

It's good news that Hearts have rejected bids for Andy Driver.

I only hope that this is due to a resolve to strengthen the team rather than because Burnley's bids were seen as being too low.

#3 "once hearts have a new manager and have sold a certain amount of season tickets driver will be off".

Life is full of certainties for you, isn't it? No ifs, buts, or maybes - just black & white.

#7 you dont know what you are talking about

i hate to admit it but much of hearts first team squad is pretty sub-standard at the moment, so driver is one of the few who i would actually be hoping to keep. he is still learning, and he clearly has far more talent and potential than the likes of elliot or mole would i would bin immediately.

"The way it was left was, if anything was going to happen, Hearts had to come back to us"

What?... Seriously are we secretly touting driver about the place or is Coyle a little new to how this whole transfer thing works?

I don't remember a transfer request from Andy, Hearts saying he was for sale or us aproaching Burnley in the first place... So what the fluff is Owen mumping about?

If you can't afford him or we don't want to sell him then why not just shut up and stop unsettling our players with nonsense like 'we will not be held to ransom' when he is not your player... TUBE!

#7 - Another piece of top class info from the hibs scouting network. Thanks for that - well worth the 10 minutes or so it must have taken you to bash that out on the keyboard.

#9 - Spot on. Coyle comes across as either a) naive, or more likely b) completely stupid in all of this. He's making it sound like he's doing us a favour by taking Driver off our hands!

I honestly don't blame you not renewing. The club is a disgrace and is rotten from top to bottom.

It will be Frail and an Eastern European manager/coach in the dug-out for the start of next season.

I think watching the product on the pitch was bad enough last season never mind the shenanagins that alledgedly go on behind the scenes.
I think we can all put up with his nibs playing his games if the team are puting in a shift on the park.
But the way things seem to be shaping up we are up for the same sh1te this season.

On the other hand oor Vlad could get in a decent manager, give him a few shackles and let the fella pick the team.
Ridiculous i know....

I witnessed the Gretna and Falkirk games at the end of last season, and in all my times watching Hearts, those were two of the most inept performances I have ever witnessed.

The soul has been torn from the club. We can talk-up Kingston and others, all were dire.

The youth policy is a joke as none are making any sort of impression and the 1st team squad is as threadbare as I've known it, and most of them are on loan.

The CL and SPL seems a long way off!!

im sure then that FIFA will take the appropriate action if they see anything untoward going on.

I do however have an interesting peice of information for you to look into if you would!

FACT - Person spends alot of time worrying about a team that actually has nothing to do with him, recent reports state that timmy timmy is trying to block out the failings of his own team and his homelife by obsessing with heart of midlothian fc. FIFA have issued a statement on this and told him to "get a life"

not boring, not boring at all.

that tommytommy really knows what he's on about eh? he's so convincing that he doesn't need to bother providing proof that "romanov will be e-mailing every club in the championship trying to flog hearts players".

a statement like that is so credible that it should be taken at face value and never questioned, no heaven forbid.

this must be the freedom of speech that we hear is so worthy of protecting.

Are you seriously suggesting that Hibs accept the first bif for a player? Hibs are one of the teams resposible for the likes of the Old Firm being unable to take players from Scottish clubs for pennies.

You can tell Hearts fans are real touchy just now, but deflecting attention onto Hibs really doesnt help matters for you.

meanwhile back on planet earth,

i'm delighted driver is staying, if indeed he does ultimately stay. coyle has been a complete plum during this half-assed transfer attempt.

so it's hearts obligation to continue the 'negotiations', even after they bombed out the latest bid?

i think coyle gets his logic and thought processes from reading these boards, his heids on upside down.

I will repeat

When people come on these threads who dont support hearts and wish to comment on hearts "for the good of mankind" thats fine BUT as there is no footy team out there who are "squeaky clean" and since YOU wont admit to who you support then no-one will really take any notice of what you say.

Go on be proud of your team pin your colours to the mast and then lets see how clean YOUR team is.

otherwise shhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh and timmy RE Arbroath

They are only due part of a sell on fee, the money we got was for compensation. in good faith we said we would give then some cash BUT in scotland there is no such thing as a verbal contract so if they start to spout on about court then hearts could say stuff them then.

As it was Webster who had to pay the compensation then if it was a transfer fee (as you say) would there not be some sort of legality about players paying their own fee and if that is the case WHY did rangers deal with wigan if in fact Webster owned himself???????
59

Maroon tinted glasses,

23/06/2008 11:48:24

i agree about the contract between arbroath and hearts (no-one is doubting that) BUT the money hearts got was NOT a transfer fee it was compensation so what is hard to understand about that??

As for the bednar fee it was only last month so i couldnt possibly comment.
60

#70, no it was paid in cash, small denominations of usa dollars, euros & sterling. it was smuggled out of tynecastle in 4 large suitcases which were bought earlier in the day from makro (£49.99 plus vat). it is now held in a safety deposit box in a geneva bank.

the cost of the suitcases was 'added to the club debt'.

Timmy,

Fair enough it must be english law where verbal means nothing BUT it still does not take away the fact "The Contract" says they are due money for any future transfer costs. Yes hearts did say on the website they would give arbroath ££££££ and i for one think if they said it they should follow up BUT i dont remember any dates give as to when this would be paid.

When you booked your holiday DID you confirm dates??

"Chances are it hasnt come to Hearts account.

Chances are its sitting with the Gordon money.

Money like that gathers a lot of interest you know."

That is priceless!!... Okay can anyone join in this method of determining things?... I'll have a wee go...

Chances are... T****yTommy is in fact a transv*stite and likes to play hide the cuccumber with his sister... i have no evidence to back it up by your own rules that is not necessary, I look forward to you providing evidence that this is not the case.

Chances are... Old Firm is not a rangers fan at all but infact a sad wee gloryhunter who would support anything as long as it won enough to not be like everything else in his life and add to his daily loses and disapointments... Again i have no proof of this but by T****yTommy's rules you don't need any it is up to him to prove otherwise!

T****yTommy,

Vic has been contributing to these threads for years and has only been kicked off once.

Putrid little boys with no backbone or common sense like yourself are given carte blanch by the moderators to make slanderous remarks in type on there threads day in and day out and we accept it because we have to.

your sad wee mate Riley one day went through six pseudos and the next day umpteen all over again giving his tuppence worth about a club that he says he doesn't care about? If you don't see the contradiction there then there is no hope for you or him.

Vic cares about Hearts and likes to give his opinions on them as do i and the other jambos here, we have different oppinions on the problems and ways forward and the likes of Lenny and the poorly named Albert kidd also add some substance to the debate but all you and these other idiots are capable of are the sort of childish tangeants that I would expect from either a sinister little obsessed loner or a twelve year old kid.

Don't come on here talking rubbish about luddites and free speach when your sole purpose seems to be to get the very people these threads were set up for banned by dragging them into your pathetic little agendas and provicotive mud-slinging bouts.

if this is not your purpose then kindly explain what it is you are hoping to hear from the Hearts fans... Hell I'll just agree with you so that you cann p155 off and get some semblence of a normal life back and save us a lot of boring reading...

WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE AND AIM?... Honest question.
