A CONTROVERSIAL Australian doctor who backs euthanasia was allowed into the UK yesterday after an interview at Heathrow Airport.
Mark Stephens, who represents Dr Philip Nitschke, said misinformation had been spread about the medic's visit to Britain.

The Australian doctor has come to the UK to give pro-euthanasia talks to groups of supporters of his organisation Exit International.

Although he invented a machine to allow terminally ill people to take their own life through drugs, he does not have it with him, Stephens said.

He added: "We've had a film of someone going to Switzerland and dying, which is a stage further down the road than Dr Nitschke who is just giving talks."

The doctor will be in the UK for two weeks giving talks at various locations including Glasgow.

Why is this country and the authorities afraid of choice. This man should not be demonised. Palative care in this country is one of the best in the world, however it can only go so far. Like alot of people I have seen elderly relatives suffer from terminal cancer and dementia and their quality of lives were destroyed. I wont let this happen to me. I have made it well know in my family of my wishes and I am relatively healthy now and aim to live as long as possible within a quality that I want.

1# You don't need a doctor to help you top yourself really do you. One way to come into this life, many ways to go out. Take an overdose of paracetemol at the first sign of memory loss if it suits, a fall from a high place will do it. But I dont think doctors who's only role should be helping the sick, should be touting around the idea of suicide. If he feels like that, then I question should he be a doctor at all.

He's just another evil person masquerading under a libertarian facade. he believes that "the depressed, the elderly bereaved, [and] the troubled teen." should be shown how to commit suicide.
Does he get off on it?
How does he sleep nights?
