West Country surf rockers Reef had a certain charm with their Chili Peppers chops and muscular funk approach, and since the band's demise singer Gary Stringer and bassist Jack Bessant have laid low. Now they return with a new bandon this hit and miss affair. Stringer sounds like a second-rate thrash metal singer on the opening 'Demon Rebel', but the engaging elasticity of his voice is more to the fore on 'Let The Sun' or even 'The Skull Behind', although the latter toils with prog rock aspirations.
