MORTON were denied their first league win of the season when Pars substitute Ross Campbell popped up at the back post to head home an equaliser one minute from time to earn a share of the points.
The Pars, who had only scored one goal in their last three league visits to Cappielow, threatened to end that drought in style when they carved open the Morton defence with ease in the early stages. After just seven minutes Stephen Glass whipped a cr
oss-field pass to the left to Austin McCann. His first-time cross was spilled by Morton goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert, but Graham Bayne's follow up header was cleared off the line by Ryan Harding.

For all their endeavour, Morton almost went in front in 20 minutes when only a sensational double save by Pars goalkeeper Paul Gallacher prevented Davie Irons' side from scoring. Gallacher got down sharply to push Jim McAlister's low 25-yard shot to his right and recovered brilliantly when Brian Wake was first to react, scooping his eight-yard chip over the bar.

Morton thought they had taken the lead in 59 minutes when Steve Masterton's corner from the left crashed off the crossbar and post and appeared to be over the line, but despite vehement protests, referee Steve Nicholls waved play on.

Morton were not to be denied sixty seconds later when Wake hooked the ball in from a yard out after Dominic Shimmin got his head to another Masterton corner from the right, before Dunfermline's late show levelled the scores.
