DUNFERMLINE'S player/ manager Jim McIntyre led by example as he cooly hit the winning goal and left Clyde sweating that they could still end up in the dreaded relegation play-off spot.
Bully Wee's former Rangers star Jorg Albertz tried to catch out Dunfermline 'keeper Paul Gallacher early on with a free kick from 35 yards but he blazed his audacious effort high.

With the interval approaching, Dunfermline midfielder Stephen Simmo
ns swung over a cross which looked destined for the head of Stephen Crawford or Jim McIntyre but the ball was headed away by Dusan Bestvina.

Then Albertz stepped up to take a trademark free-kick from 28 yards which the German hit with ferocious power only to see it zip inches past the post.

On the stroke of half-time, Pat Clarke tucked the ball into the net from ten yards out following a perfect David McKay cross.

Dunfermline, however, responded strongly and Stephen Glass made it 1-1 from the penalty spot in the 48th minute after Alan Muir ruled that Crawford had been downed in the box by Willie Gibson.

It was a goal which gave the home side a timely lift and McIntyre put their noses in front for the first time, his expertly placed shot from a Crawford cutback giving 'keeper David Hutton no chance.

Despite the disappointment Clyde's fate remains in their own hands with two games to go and they remain favourites to shove Morton into the play-offs with their three point cushion.
