SCOTTISH stars are being lined up to help cricket tap into the lucrative US market.
At least two Saltires are likely to feature in a World XI which will participate in a glamour Twenty20 tournament in Florida later this month. The four-team MAQ T20, offering $25,000 to the winners, will also include a Pakistan All Star side, a West Indies team and Canada. Further competitions – possibly featuring the full Scotland team – will take place before the end of the year.

Aberdeenshire wicketkeeper Colin Smith was approached to take part in the event but had to reject the trip due to work and cricket commitments in Scotland, though Grange all-rounder Gregor Maiden is expected to play.
