QUEEN OF SOUTH 3 - CLYDE 1
QUEENS moved further away from the relegation trap door, but had to come back from a goal down to dispose of Colin Hendry's side, who slumped to second bottom of the table.

Clyde, unbeaten in their last six league games on their travels since late
September, came under a barrage of early pressure from Queens, with goalkeeper David Hutton twice pulling off spectacular saves.

After just three minutes Paul Burns darted in from the right and curled in a 20-yard left-foot shot which Hutton tipped over. Six minutes later, Sean O'Connor tried his luck, but Hutton again produced a fine stop.

But Clyde it was who took the lead in 13 minutes when captain Michael McGowan chipped over goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald from the penalty spot, after Jim Thomson had brought down Gary Arbuckle.

Queens continued to carve out numerous goal-scoring opportunities, none better than in 26 minutes when a Steve Tosh pass found John Stewart in space, but Dusan Bestvina produced a marvellous goal-saving block.

The previous two clashes this season between these clubs had ended all-square, and when Queens substitute Stephen Dobbie got on the end of a Neil MacFarlane cross from the right to whip a 12-yard volley high into the net in 62 minutes for the equaliser, it looked as though a third might be on the cards. But Queens grabbed the lead in 73 minutes when Paul Burns slipped the ball past MacDonald, and Tosh secured the points in 83 minutes from the spot after Craig McKeown tripped Burns.
