ON A gunmetal grey day it was the whites of Clyde who shaded it against all-black Livingston in a match almost as colourless as the Cumbernauld sky.
The home side had a corner within a minute but it was the visitors who had the first clear cut chance as early as the second minute when Robert Snodgrass dragged his shot just wide of goalkeeper David Hutton's far post.
Livvy however were a goal
to the good after just eight minutes and the beauty of it was in its simplicity. Tomas Pesir and Snodgrass exchanged passes down the left and, at speed, Snodgrass flighted in a lovely cross. Graham Dorrans met the ball with his head ten yards out to bullet it home past the helpless Hutton. It took Clyde until five minutes before the break to have a serious attempt on goal, the two McGowans combining down the right for Michael to unleash a 20-yard screamer that shaved the top of Colin Stewart's goal.
Having belatedly learned the location of the Livingston goal Clyde were level three minutes later when from an outrageous miskick defender Craig McKeown fed off the scraps to drill home low to Stewart's left.
Within five minutes of the restart Clyde should have taken the lead when Livvy keeper Stewart misjudged Michael McGowan's cross-cum-shot but MacLennan shot weakly and wide of an inviting open goal.
However, the visitors were by this stage barely in evidence and with 15 minutes remaining Neil McGregor forced a Christian Smith corner over the line for what proved to be a scarcely deserved winner.
