Green pressure on decision-making
MINISTERS are being forced to measure all development and energy decisions against the economic cost of their impact on the environment.
A new "carbon price" has been set which must be factored into the cost of anything contributing to climate change – such as new runways, roads or power stations.
The carbon price has been set in line with the recommendations of Sir Nicholas Stern's report on the economic cost of climate change.
