British troops banned from Ayai Napa

TEENAGE British soldiers are to be banned from the Cyprus resort of Ayia Napa after a series of drunken brawls. But the town's mayor said officers would still be welcome.
Nine British soldiers will stand trial in Cyprus at the end of this month over a bar fight in the popular coastal resort, which is known for its lively nightlife.

I was in Ayia Napa in 2000. We spoke to a few soldiers in a small subburb resort who told us at the time that they were barred from going into the Ayia Napa area.

So either this story is 8 years late or the rule was changed only to be changed back again.
