BARCLAYS Wealth has opened up an even bigger lead in the race to win the Scottish Investment Challenge.
Figures for April trading shows the team showing a profit on its £10,000 starting portfolio. It may signal the beginning of a revival after months of market turmoil that has depressed the portfolio valuations of our six teams.

Artemis has made good progress to make it to second spot, but will need to see a sparkling performance from its 10 stocks this month if it is to close the gap. Bell Lawrie dropped out of the top three to be replaced by Alex Hammond-Chambers.

With the competition concluding in August all six participants will be hoping the markets have settled down and can enjoy a bit of a run.

The challenge is monitored by WM Performance Services and supported by Scotland on Sunday. Each participant can buy and sell two stocks each month and each will donate at least £1,000, plus any profits made, to the charities Edinburgh & Lothian Greenspace Trust and Radio Clyde's Cash for Kids.
