HADOUKEN
Music For An Accelerated Culture

**

Surface Noise 51422279342, £9.99

Look at me! I am dysfunctional and discordant! This is the scream of the first third of this Leeds duo's debut.

Actually, we'd rather not. 'That Boy That Girl' and 'Game Over' are the most virulent examples of Asbo-disco I've come across in a while.

When not so eager to intimidate, however, they can impress. The first hint of that comes from the jaunty electro stomp of 'Mr Misfortune', while the first whole tune arrives in the form of 'What She Did'.

But this sounds more like the fag end of a dying culture than the bright spark of a new one.
