Perhaps he was shocked into immobility when he realised there wasn't a MacDonald's outlet.

Pathetic; he should return the money from the grant.

Disgraceful behaviour and I hope the grant committee penalise him severely for his arrogance!

Agree with nos. 1 and 2. He should have refused the honor if he had no interest in visiting the house. And, the bit about not being able to drive to the front door shows how lazy some of us Americans have become. No wonder hlaf the population has big rear ends!!!

I think that a main point is being missed here. As Dr. Jack Wheeler has noted, the Koran says in whatever translation you prefer, "Whoever is not of Islam and will not convert shall be killed." So what do you expect of Israel? And why have not our politicians pointed this out?

I have first-hand experience of Americans who can't be bothered to move their fat arses beyond the driver's seat. If the destination can't be got to with the automobile then it ain't worth the bother. What an undeserving tosser.

Riley Hamish,

ARTY-FARTY-FREE-ZONE 14/08/2007 09:34:05

Am I surprised?? NO.
Am I bovvered? Only when it comes down to listening to the political parties reactions to requests for arts funding. I'll be much less supportive of aid to any of these fat-a***d subsidy junkies from any party that wants MY vote !!!
Disgraceful admission !!
