Same old Azmathullah. He never changes. And I will choose my own chums thank you, without any advice from you.
Unfortunately, g.w. will send more troops into a country that should have not been invaded in the first place. His arrogance and ego will not stop with the loss of 3,000 Americans and who knows how many innocent Iraqui people. It's time for the u.s. to pull out and take care of it's own business.
Yes. GW sucks. Yes. His managment of the war is embarassing and criminal... but, you got to hand it to the Iraqi's for killing this SOB. They should just throw his body on the street and let the people burn it and hang it like they did to those poor contractors at the start of the war.
Saddam was lucky to go out so quickly.
Kuddos to the executioner. and I 've seen the whole cell phone video...
Saddam is buried where he should be, in the family plot in his home village.
His demise is the only positive result of the illegal invasion of Iraq by Bush and his gang.
Saddam killed millions of people with help from the USA and elsewhere, millions of people died as a result of attempts to unseat him, millions more will die as a result of his execution by the USA's Iraq regime.
Quite an achievement for one man. Just goes to show what can happen as a result of US foreign policy.
I agree he was a terrible man but in the middle east was he not surrounded by dictators just as bad or even worse than he was ?
As for my country I love it , but the old oil tycoons that have been in charge of it for the last few years have made me take note as to how much power these people have. Hopefully in the next few years we will have change as this is a great county.
This is all propaganda by the invading countries against the true nationalist President of Iraq who has sacrificed his three generations defending the integrity and sovereignty of his motherland. Remember, Saddam's 14-year old grandson was also killed by the forces of occupation along with his father Qusay and uncle Uday. True to a patriot of highest order, Saddam even didn't spare his own two sons-in-law when it came to defend the honour and dignity of his country. These sons-in-law who, for some time, played into the hands of iraq's enemies met their violent death at the hands of the iraqi people. By whose decree or judgement, Saddam was a 'dictator', 'despot' and 'brutal tyrant'? --- by his vanquishers. They have to coverup their most heinous crimes against Saddam Husain and his people under such false and hollow attributions. Those who claim to be the standard bearers of democracy should know the basic principle of democracy. It is a rule by 51 against 49. If a small number out of 49 (or, say, even the whole of 49) comes in the street against the majority 51, the latter doesn't lose the right to govern. The west always support the 49 or part of it, to dethrone the 51 which is absolutely in negation to the philosophy and spirit of democracy.By sacrificing his three generations, Sadam Husain has only ranked himself next to Saladin. He will be evergreen in the annals of history while his vanquishers who grossly abused the human rights of the iraqi people will be dumped in the bin of history.
"Symphatizers" of the "Evil man", go with him in "hell".
My goodness, I have been told that people like you responders actually believe that the US, therefore our president, is responsible for all the attrocities in this world, but I now see it with my own eyes. Saddam Hussein was a despot, with no regard to the lives of any person who chose to challenge him, directly or passively. His reign of terror is over, and I pray that Iraq can heal. However, globally, we all are still targets for the terrorists who are even more menacing because of their stealth and their complete disregard for their own lives and the lives of innocent people trying to enjoy theirs. And, what is up with the big "oil tycoon" theory that fat cats control the government for their own profit? I work in the oil and gas industry, and we work very hard to make it possible to produce the oil and gas necessary to keep the world (even you mis-informed, liberal nutcases) going EVERY DAY. I would like to see what would happen to any of you liberal nutcases if for just one day, you had to live without the use of ANY product of oil and/or natural gas. Think about it. Read labels, because petroleum products were involved in some way in the production of all your amenities. Give up your car, but you can't use the bus or streetcar, either. You had better bundle up, because the furnace doesn't work. You also have no lights in your house, because the power plants rely on petroleum products to produce electricity. I could go on, but I am tired of this argument. Primarily because it is an exercise in futility. I feel like the world is going into the twilight zone, and I pray for sanity to return to a world view gone awry.
Disclaimer: the President is a personal friend of my father's, both having served on the Board of Harken Oil Company. I love my father and hate some things about him; same for George Jr, same for the U.S. of A, same for the people of Iraq. So my point is that we are not perfect here. Sometimes George comes across as arrogant and self-righteous. Well, he has a right to. Unlike most Americans, he exercises, is not obese, and tends to think carefully before opening his mouth -- so he's "better" than we are. Saddam was much, much "worse" than almost anybody on the planet. Maybe if we were all smart enough and loving enough we could have helped Saddam -- he probably had a dysfunctional childhood and needed a spiritual awakening to recover. His last letter suggested he might have started to look at the word more lovingly, but the world wasn't willing to trust him enough to let him live. Imperfect world! George has tried to do the right thing, but the world has judged him harshly (low ratings), and I suspect it's because George can be a bit insufferable -- I think he needs to look at his own issues some more. I don't like that he covered for Cheney's drinking and shooting incident, for example; George is an enabler and that can kill people and it comes from childhood stuff. I know because I am a caretaker-enabler myself, and I'm not perfect, either. Feel free to respond to this post as you see fit, but I hope that as you do so, you'll reflect on what it was in your personal childhood and your parents' childhoods that led you to feel the way you now feel about Saddam, and George, and me, and yourself. The unexamined life isn't worth living (and the unlived life isn't worth examining). It's our planet, ya know, so keep up the discussion. Love y'all,--Sherlocksfriend
This is one of the most gruesomely accurate reports on the brutality and statanic evility of Saddam that I have read in recent months. I appreciate it because it keeps the execution of Saddam in perspective. Bravo Scotsman.
While Saddam did have a sad childhood, he himself chose evil over good and used fear, torture, and brutality to ruthlessly rule over Iraq. He was inspired by Lucifer, our common enemy, whose goal it is to gain power over each one of us. Lucifer rules in fear and hate, in blood-shed and opression of free agency (liberty); however, his power if inferior to that of Jesus Christ.
It is really simple actually. This life is a test - it is a probationary state. It is a time to prepare to meet God our creator and Father of our spirits; it is a time to choose good over evil, and to love instead of hate. The spiritual battle, and it is war, over the souls of men and women began before the this world was created--and it continues today. (Eventually lucifer will be bound for eternity and those that follow him receive similar damnation, i.e. Saddam.)
We lived before this life and we will live after this life. Our happiness in this life and afterward is dependant on our willingness and consistency in choosing the right.
My point is that war is not a bad thing. It is a sad thing, but necessary at times when those principles and values we love are threatened. George Bush understands that freedom isn't free and that the cost to defend it experienced dramatic inflation on 9/11.
I believe he understands what the Iraqis have endured and I support this war fully. Why? Because I've talked with Iraqis who fled his regime to Greece. I've played with their orphan children, and learned from the widows of men executed by Saddam. Even if the only result was to liberate them from the despot, they appreciate the chance Bush (and Blair) have given them. History will prove his wisdom and inspiration.

Syed Azmathullah is just ranting because in Chennai, the closest he gets to anarchy is when a taxi overcharges him.
I believe that the Saddam hanging was not the done thing, but then, what is, in the Arab world's interpretation of extreme justice? There are very progressive Arab countries, which have made very big leaps in safe guarding human rights. However, Iraq was not one...
Syed in India, leans towards fundamentalist Islam, because India is democratic and actually allows you to get away with almost anything... extremism included!
How would Syed Azmathullah feel if the torture sessions involved females from his family?I really dislike how people conviniently take a moral highground and expect every one to sagely agree with their view-point.
So, Mr.Azmathullah, you are a bigot and an idiot. I therefore suggest that you kindly pack your bigotory and depart to some extremism friendly country.

We now know where that monster Saddam is buried and it will probably be turned into a shrine for those who still persistently praise him and his reign of terror and evil.
If only his miserable remains could be disinterred and thrown in the desert for the jackals and vultures to do their work on his putrefying body.
This, indeed, would be a final gesture of contempt to an inhuman and inhumane tyrant.

You have Bush to thank for having him killed and made into a martyr so that he couldn't spill the beans about his friends in the USA who helped him commit the crimes for which he was 'tried'.
If he had faced due process at the Hague, the truth would have come out; he would have been given life imprisonment as would many of his friends in the fullness of time.
The feelings expressed toward his torturers by one of Saddam's victims noted in the article should resonate within the skulls of the promoters of torture and brutality among the Bushiviki.
Colonel Vann, in the early years of the Vietnam conflict, complained vociferously about the brutal treatment afforded the civilians in South Vietnam by the counter-insurgency forces. He maintained that this only fed the Viet Cong insurgency. Unfortunately, his message was ignored and this capable officer resigned.
The tradition that carried forward in the US military was one of wanton brutality toward the civilian population...of Operation Phoenix...of the attacks on civilians in Panama and Serbia. of support for the Israeli attrocities in Lebanon and Palestine...and the horror stories of Iraq and Afghanistan....
It should be noted that the very tortures that Saddam was accused to have been party to, have been sanctioned by the legal hacks of the Bush regime and, in many cases, carried out at Gitmo and Abu Ghraib.
The Bush Crime Family has erased yet another potential witness to testify against them--their former friend and ally Saddam is now history. Bush supporters, I'm sure, will breathe a sigh of relief that he was silenced.
13. Bill from England. I thank Baby Bush for nothing. In fact I am one of his most outspoken and vehement critics and also his Cabinet and the ass-l---ers that he surrounds himself with.
In fact one of my more "trenchant" postings was removed from this sight because of my irate criticism of him and his stupidity and the stupidity of Americans who think he can do no wrong.
He is supported by only about 10-20% of the Americans in all of his policies and procedures and will go down in history as THE WORST PRESIDENT EVER.
Now, all the Bush supporters will crawl out of their hovels and berate me for my opinions which are in the majority WORLDWIDE with regard to Baby Bush and his band of incompetents and liars, cheats, and frauds.
Kellyrey Texas, We'll do what we did before the advent of oil and gas. Needs must when the devil drives. If you come to "Old Europe" you'll find out how it works. a Guid New Year Tae Yae
some people say he was serious but besides all the killing i think he was still ballin especially in iraq caz he would get away every time but at least we can all live a little happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!
