The Lebonese Government and Army have done nothing in this conflict.

Their lack of action to control the terrorist element of Hizbollah has allowed this extremist organisation to bring terrible carnage to The Lebanon. Israel are dropping the bombs, however, Hizbollah have created the scenario.

Perhaps this is a perfect opportunity for them to stop behaving like bystanders and come out of their holes and transport this much needed aid to their people. In war, soldiers take risks when fighting for their countries. Lets see the Lebonese Army take risks for their people.

Above all, lets hope that in the very near future we see an end to this conflict, built on an agreement that all have the right to live and have their own Religion whether it be Jewish, Sonni, Shiite or Christian.....or atheist.

Perhaps those legitmate officials would be signing their own death warrants, if they voted for a sane resolution to this current problem! Ask yourselves, "why does Hezbolla exist?" Could it be the result of subjugation of the Palestinians and the colonisation of their lands? What would be the US's reaction be if the Russians decided to take Alaska back from the USA. After all, the Russians once owned it. So they sold it to the USA? So what? Maybe the only way to get peace between the US, UK & Iraq (or Iran) is to nuke all 3 (or 4) countries. Hey maybe the way to get peace in the world is to wipe out the entire human race.

Another traditional method of encouraging peace is to side with the victim & against the aggressor. Perhaps this would be preferable.

Unstated goal: Total control of region's resources (oil, water) of Iran, Iraq, etc.

Method:

* Make false accusations (for home consumption) of WMD and emminent threats. (Again. It worked with the Iraq invasion.)
* Portray Israel as an innocent but threatened democracy and close friend of the US.
* Allow Israel to provoke Palestinians with brutal oppression in hopes of a military response. (Kill thousands, steal land, water, top soil, demolish homes using collective punishment, build apartheid walls etc.)
* Give billions of dollars and billions in military weapons to Israel to "protect" them from rock throwing kids and the occasional suicide bomber. Include weapons that can be used in a full scale war, like bunker buster bombs and illegal cluster bombs. (Also allow Israel all of the nuclear weapons that they want.)
* When the provoked response finally happens, voting for the "wrong" party in Palestine or lobbing mostly ineffectual rockets from Lebanon, support Israel's preplanned disproportionate response as totally justified.
* Link Iran and Syria to ANY response to Israel's aggression.
* Come to Israel's "aid" by attacking Syria and Iran.
* Start World War 3

Dear (Ken, Glenrothes Scotland) The army is taking everything that it takes to help civilians and the transport of aids to them... the army cannot fight israel since USA did not allow the army to have well equiped arms... The army is not a stanbyers they gave almost 50 martyrs even when they did not fight Israel.. If the army moves into the fight a civil war would clash since half the lebanese population is christian... And when no Resolution from the UN is being taken to cease fire under the direct bombing of Israel... Jd, this is very true and is exactly what happened to the Lebonese President a couple of years ago. He spoke out against Hizbollah..so they handled it the fair, honest and proud Hizbollah way....they killed him.

The Lebonese Government did not take control of the situation and sort it out, even following the UN Mandate that Hizbollah must dis-arm.

Now we start hearing that Israel must stop the aggression in Lebanon and in accordance with UN directives. So it's everyone else must abide by UN directives or Mandates but it doesn't apply to Hizbollah !!!!!!!!

The Lebonese Government have failed the people in that they have allowed the extremist wing of Hizbollah to turn Lebanon into a battlefield for Syria.

I have said during other stories, if Israel funded, fed and helped Lebanon and they put out a hand of friendship, you people would cut it off....why? because they are Jewish and Israelis. The same applies to Palastinians. Islamic extremists do not want peace, it's not on your agenda. Extremists are only interested in the destruction of Israel and nothing else, in the killing of people in London, New York, Madrid, Bali, and every town in Israel where suicide bombers have killed innocent civilians (including children).

I suggest:
1 The US immediately orders Israel to ceasefire or all foreign and military aid will stopped today. Yes today.
2 10 billion dollars will be immediately deducted from future US aid to Israel and will be donated to Lebanon for rebuilding of that country.
3 The US demands that Israel retire from all occupied territories including east Jerusalem, the West Bank, the Golan Heights, the Shebaa farms, Gaza and Lebanon.
4 Ehud Olmert and other Israeli cabinet ministers and generals be brought before the International Court in the Hague and accused of war crimes.
5 Until all the foregoing points are addressed satisfactorily, all Israeli passports are declared invalid in all parts of the world.

How's that for a sensible start?

Hezbullah has caused every civilian death. They have showered Israel with thousands of rockets, much of which has been fired from their own civilian population centers. Hezbulla is itself a civilian organization is it not? Do they fly the flag of any nation? They hide like the rats they are in the houses, schools, religious buildings, amonst the children.

It is Hezbulla that has killed the children, it is Hezbullah that is to blame. Israel has only responded to a civilian malitia that has placed their own children in harms way for the purpose of further harming Israel.

I am sorry for the Lebanese people who don't support Hezzbolah. It is a shame the world will not confront the real enemy of all of us, Iran. One thing the people must understand is that if you elect terrorists and allow them to make your country's foreign policy by way of terrorists attacks, you all will suffer.

If the world spoke with one voice and told the head of the one terrorist state responsible for all of the unrest in the Middle East (Iran), you would see the average peace loving Muslims and Arabs step up, without fear.
