WOLFSON Microelectronics, the supplier of computer chips for gadgets such as the Apple iPhone, faces a struggle against the big semiconductor firms to reach the next level, Cazenove, the broker, has warned.
Retiring chief executive David Milne will present his last set of annual results on Wednesday, and he is expected to predict a boost in sales in the second half of the year as demand for consumer gadgets picks up.
Cazenove analyst Francois Meunier said: "Wolfson needs to focus on tier one vendors to pass the 3% market threshold towards 5% in 2007."
