Sainsbury's buyer arrested over backhander claim

A BUYER for supermarket Sainsbury's has been arrested over claims he took backhanders from a supplier.
The buyer was questioned by City of London Police after accusations he received money from Greenvale, a potato producer.

It is understood the alleged payments total £3m.

A member of Greenvale's staff was also arrested and questioned.

Greenvale supplies around half of Sainsbury's potatoes.
