FRENCH President Nicolas Sarkozy has trumpeted his nation's cuisine as the world's best, saying he wants Unesco to honour it.
Sarkozy said France would be the first country to apply in 2009 for its cuisine to be included in a listing of world heritage at the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, taking its place beside the Pyramids, Stonehenge and the Acropolis.

"We have the best gastronomy in the world," he said.

Eh bien, Nicky, mon ami ... some of it is praiseworthy, some less than. I would have thought your Hungarian world heritage would come into play on the more glutinous side of la cuisine française, n'est-ce pas?
