WHAT?
This is the most loved of Scotland's smaller indie festivals, now in its seventh year. KT Tunstall, Gary Newman, Alabama 3 and the Fall have been added to the line-up but Wickerman, in the south-west near Dundrennan, is more about the soul than the sounds. Think Red Hot Chilli Pipers, not the Californicating ones. Cool, cultish and family friendly.
Festival frenzy: if you like burning 30ft effigies on a Saturday night
Festival flop: if Galloway pipe rock fails to float your boat
