Under the Radar: The Unperson
When musician and producer Ally Skivington, aka The Unperson, bought a bag of game cassettes for the vintage ZX Spectrum computer, little did he know it would end up inspiring an album.
Although he ordered them for their designs, he was so taken by the description of one called Pulse Warrior that he asked friends in Glasgow’s electronic music community to each compose a song using it as a brief.

Hide AdThe result is Helios City, an eclectic collection of 16 tracks created using vintage analogue synth sounds, released on 29 January on fledgeling Glasgow label In The Event Of Capture (set up by UTR favourites We Should Hang Out More).
Remixes and a sequel are under consideration, and Skivington is currently working on a "making of” video, which promises to be the perfect accompaniment to what is already set to be the concept album of 2021. For advance listening visit http://bit.ly/HeliosCityPreview

Applications are open for European development and mentoring programme JUMP.
