Video: blind runner Libby Clegg on her medal win
In the latest episode of ‘Scotsman at the Games’, David Ferguson interviews Clegg and Huggins and hears how sport changed the former’s life after she was diagnosed with the deteriorating eye condition Stargardt’s Macular Dystrophy and why she backs the merger of disabled sport into the Commonwealth programme but not the Olympic Games.
The 24-year-old won silver at the 2012 Olympics and after gliding to victory in front of a noisy Scottish support at Hampden she and Huggins are now firmly focused on taking European and world titles en route to the Rio Olympics in two years’ time.
