Meanwhile, Currie have questioned the reliance on overseas players in the Scottish professional game.
An official programme article this week, headlined “View from the Stand”, stated: “Is it time to draw a line and sacrifice foreign talent for Scottish-born players? We have an ever-growing number of youngsters taking up the game in Scotland, with future Matt Scotts and Jonny Grays.
“But their chance of representing Scotland is being diminished with the SRU’s eagerness to look elsewhere for players.”
