In pictures: Glasgow’s Great Scottish Run 2013
The 40-year-old Ethiopian finished the Glasgow course in a time of 61 minutes and six seconds to take first place.
Scotland’s Susan Partridge, from Oban, won the women’s race with a time of 70 minutes and 36 seconds with her fellow Scots Freya Ross finishing in second place and Steph Twell coming in in fourth place.

Hide AdThe event attracted a number of celebrity runners including Celtic manager Neil Lennon who ran the 10k and Scottish finance minister John Swinney who ran the half marathon.
Olympian Katherine Grainger started runners off from George Square in the city centre.
A total of 24,089 took part in this year’s event which was first held in 1982.
