Hide AdOn the Ladies' European Tour, Musselburgh's Vikki Laing went on a birdie spree to share second place on six under par 66 after the first round of the Deutsche Bank Ladies' Swiss Open at Golf Gerre Losone.
The 29-year-old started on the back nine and made four birdies in a row from the 18th plus more at the tenth 15th, 16th and fifth to finish alongside Yorkshire's Georgina Simpson and just a shot behind the leader, Australian Kristie Smith.
Laing said: "I putted really well. I had a lot of birdie chances and was lucky to make most of them."
South Queensferry 17-year-old Carly Booth had a disappointing day with a 77.
