Fraser on Fishing: Rosslynlee's fighting fish helped to keep me warm
Not wanting to venture far from home, I found to my amazement that Rosslynlee on the outskirts of Rosewell was open and, more importantly, fishing well.
I decided to stick with a midge tip line with a long leader and a single lure.

The fish were in excellent condition and fought well despite the cold and the hardest part was staying warm and keeping my concentration going.
Fishing roughly 6-8 feet sub surface on a very slow, almost static, retrieve, the takes were soft but subtle.
I managed to get my limit bag from three different areas with the best coming from under the dam wall in deeper water.
Although fish came to different flies, it was a Black Dancer that got the most attention.
Most anglers were on fast-sinking lines and some big fish were taking bigger lures.
