The Scottish Premiership league table has an unusual look to it already. A number of teams have played four games, some three, others two and for Aberdeen, they haven’t played since the opening day of the season when they lost to Rangers. Yet, the Dons are still not bottom.
There were more twists, even at this early stage in the season, with the two 100 per cent records falling as Sky Sports broadcast the two goalless fixtures. But there was still plenty of entertainment and plenty to get the teeth into.

1. Aimless Accies
Two games in and it’s already not looking good for Hamilton Accies, clearly in need of some strengthening. Defensively they were shaky, but it was their possession play which was equally worrying. Despite being at home to Ross County they had less than 40 per cent of possession and completed just 51 per cent of their passes. It puts a lot of strain on the defence. 2. Stupendous Stewart
For the second week running Ross Stewart was brilliant for Ross County in their win over Hamilton Accies. He may not have scored but he did plenty of other excellent work. He was dominant in the air, a constant target on diagonals, he dribbled well taking Accies up the pitch, stretched the game and combined so well with those around him. But what is so impressive is his diligent work out of position, getting back and mucking in. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group
3. Robson impresses for United
Dundee United are off to a good start under Micky Mellon and Jamie Robson has adapted well to the top flight. Against Motherwell he put in a good all-round performance in the 1-0 win. Full-backs get a lot of notice for the attacking side of the game but it was the 22-year-old’s defensive game which impressed the most. Combative and determined, winning duels on the ground and in the air. Photo: Bill Murray - SNS Group
4. Defensive dolts
Livingston were all over the place in their defeat to Hibs. Once again Efe Ambrose lined up on the left of a back five, but despite having five defenders on the pitch, protected by Marvin Bartley, they couldn't defend. And it was the basics. Stopping cross balls, reacting to situations, attacking crosses, clearing lines. It was haphazard. Photo: Andrew Barr Photography/Pool Image)
